How Do Search Engines Work?

Indexing :- As the crawler visit web page ,they analyze the content and store information about each page in a huge database known as a index.
Ranking:- when a user enters a search query, the search engine retrieves relevant pages from its index .Thus , it applies complex algorithms to rank these pages based on various factors,including relevance ,quality, authority and user experience.
Serving Results :- finally , the search engine displays the ranked results to the user on the SERP. Typically ,the top ranking pages appear at the top followed by lower ranking pages.
